Western Hydro Power Output Exceeding 2013

Despite the drought in California, total hydro output for the CAISO and BPA regions combined is outpacing 2013 due to strong flows and late snows in the Pacific Northwest.  The Colorado River Basin snowpack also continues to build above historical averages......




The California ISO is averaging around 30 GWh per day recently, vs 50 last year, or a little less than 1 GW below, on average.  The drought should have a greater impact as we move further into the spring melt, as output should decline sooner than normal.
